About
SarkariTopi is the home for practice tools used in Indian government exams. Each tool is a full system. Stenography is the first one, and it is open now.
How the tools are provided
You register once, with your mobile number. That account is where every tool will live. A new tool is added to this site when it is ready to practice with. It is not listed before then.
The tool you can use today is the stenography system. You open it from the exam list, take a sitting, and the result is stored on your account. The first saves are free. The number left is shown on your profile. After those, a plan on the Plans page sets how many saves you get each day.
Later tools will use the same login and the same plans. Shorthand stays on paper. The site handles the dictation, the clock, and the score.
Stenography, the first system
This system is a sitting, built around the examination you are preparing for. The home page lists those exams. Each one brings its own speed, dictation time, transcription time, and error limit.
- Choose the exam, then English or Hindi.
- Play the dictation. The passage stays hidden while you listen.
- Write the shorthand on paper.
- Type the transcript from those notes. Hindi can be typed in Devanagari, or phonetically.
- Save it. The result shows full mistakes, half mistakes, the error percentage, and whether it is within the exam limit.
The percentage follows the Staff Selection Commission stenography script. A second check separates a real content mistake from a small difference in spelling or form. A figure written as a numeral or as one number-word is not marked wrong.
A sitting counts only when you save it. Leaving it, or typing only a few words, does not use a save. The passages are original practice text written for this system. They are not official Commission scripts.
